Arts & Crafts houses are easily recognisable thanks to their asymmetrical roofs, gables and distinctive form and structure. The style originated in England in the 1880s and rejected the mass production of Victorian design in favour of traditional craftsmanship and simple, honest construction. Famous proponents of the movement included writer and philosopher John Ruskin as well as British textile designer William Morris.
