Home to some of London’s most iconic landmarks, cutting-edge companies and historic residential properties. Local experts Lazarus and Lok explain why buyers and tenants from around the world continue to flock to the area.
Who are the typical residents?
Lazarus: We deal with lots of young professionals, families and corporate tenants who are attracted to the lively social atmosphere of the area and central location. Many of these tenants come from our Corporate Lettings and International Relocation team who deal with hundreds of enquiries every week from international blue-chip companies and overseas investors, many of whom deal exclusively with Dexters for their property needs.
What draws buyers and tenants to this part of London?
Lok: People are drawn to the West End because of its heritage. There is an impressive selection of period properties with architecture that cannot be beaten. Geographically you are no more than a 10 minute walk from a variety of theatres, galleries and restaurants.
What advice would you give to buyers and tenants?
Lazarus: Be ready to act quickly when you find a property you like as demand to live in London is at an all-time high. Ensure your details are registered with us and keep in regular contact because not everything we sell and let is available online.
What do your clients enjoy most about working with Dexters?
Lazarus: Our property management and tenant care service is highly rated and landlords appreciate the fact that their personal Property Manager is never more than 15 minutes away from any property in their portfolio.
Lok: The reassurance of working with qualified local experts who adhere to the highest standards of ethical behaviour. As London’s leading Estate Agent we spend 10 times the industry average on training and developing our people, running our own Academy in Pimlico. We are also regulated by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
You know you’re in the West End when…
Lok: You’re walking through Theatreland on the way back to the office and bump into one of our local landlords who seeks advice on the interior design of their rental investment.
What has been your most recent success?
Lazarus: We recently let the former private dining room above the Adelphi Theatre for £3,500 per week. It was a truly unique property with lots of history.
Lok: Due to the fast-paced nature of the market, we are able to generate dozens of viewings before properties have even launched online. With over 200,000 people registered with us looking for a London home, we have seen great results by making properties quietly available.
How do you work with the world’s press to promote your properties?
Lazarus: Dexters showcases property to millions of people on an international scale, so it is important that we work with the world’s press to promote our client’s properties. We do this through our in-house Press Office who are in daily contact with journalists and editors handling the high demand from newspapers and magazines wanting to feature only the best London property.
Lok: Our media resources also extend to weekly features in the Financial Times and the Evening Standard as well as monthly in well-known magazines. Our clients can be confident that we promote their properties to the fullest, offering maximum exposure.
