About Notting Hill

Notting Hill is a cosmopolitan neighbourhood best known for hosting one of the world's largest street festivals, Notting Hill Carnival. It's also recognised for being home to the world-famous Portobello Market, which offers a wide array of boutique stalls, shops, bars, and restaurants. Notting Hill also provides excellent transport links into central London.

Notting Hill is situated within the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, one of London's most appealing areas. A vibrant community with colourful houses, this part of west London has become one of the city's most desirable places to live. If you are looking to move here, our Estate Agents in Notting Hill will be able to find you the property that best suits your needs.

Education

There are excellent options for primary schools including Colville Primary School, Avondale Park Primary School, and Thomas Jones Primary School. For older children, there is Holland Park School and Kensington Aldridge Academy, which ensures families can stay in the neighbourhood throughout their child's school years. Some of the independent schools in the area are Notting Hill Preparatory School, Wetherby Pre Preparatory School and Notting Hill and Ealing High School.

Transport

Notting Hill Gate station on the Central, Circle, and District lines is conveniently situated at the intersection of Zones 1 and 2. While the Circle line will take you across London to Tower Hill in 25 minutes, the Central line takes seven minutes to reach Oxford Circus.

Local bus lines go via Kensal Rise, South Kensington, Golders Green, and Wandsworth (routes 28 and 70, respectively) (452). The 27 (to Chiswick), 52 (to Victoria), 94 (to Piccadilly Circus), 148 (to White City), and 390 are among the numerous 24-hour bus routes that stop at Notting Hill Gate (to Archway).

Shopping

From art galleries to independent fashion boutiques, there are shops to fit every taste. The best place to start your shopping adventure is Portobello Road, one of London's most famous streets. Portobello Road also has several antique shops offering everything from Victorian furniture pieces to 20th Century design classics.

Entertainment

There are plenty of shops, bars, and restaurants in Notting Hill, so you won’t have any hassle finding a place to eat or drink.

Notting Hill is close to several green spaces, such as Kensal Green Cemetery and Holland Park; this makes it an ideal area for those who want access to parks close by.
