Balancing city living with a village atmosphere, properties in prime west London are highly desirable. With over 35 years of experience between them, Camila and Alex discuss why demand to live in this part of London is at an all-time high.

What draws people to this part of London?

Alex: There is the perfect blend of city living and residential charm. Areas like Hammersmith and Shepherds Bush offer a vibrant cultural scene with plenty of shops and transport links, ideal for professionals. Chiswick and Ealing are home to beautiful parks, excellent schools and a strong community spirit which is well-liked by families.

Why do clients choose to work with Dexters?

Camila: We are the local experts and have extensive market knowledge. Many are impressed by the high number of viewings and strong interest we generate. Only 3 out of every 20 viewings arranged come from online portals, we generate the rest by being proactive and picking up the phone. This success is down to our experienced and hardworking teams who arrange up to 50,000 viewing appointments every month.

Alex: We have a strong commitment to delivering exceptional customer service and have over 65,000 Google reviews with an average rating of 4.9 out of 5 stars. Not only that but our Property Management service is highly rated, landlords use us because they always have a dedicated Property Manager no more than 15 minutes away from any property in their portfolio.

Who are your typical clients and customers?

Camila: Prime west London has become a hotspot for families living both in the UK and internationally, young professionals, and even the occasional celebrity. We work with a high number of investors who are attracted by the area’s strong rental yields.

Alex: People from all over the world want to live here. We work closely with our Corporate Services team who are seeing unprecedented demand and are receiving over 200 enquiries each week from embassies and major corporations looking to relocate their staff to this part of London.

What advice would you give to sellers and landlords?

Camila: When selling or letting we advise that properties are well-presented and competitively priced, kerb appeal matters so invest in minor renovations and staging if necessary. For sellers especially, it's important to be organised and prepared; choose an agent you trust and instruct your solicitor in the early stages. Our teams spend on average over 200 hours working on a successful transaction, ensuring a smooth process and achieving great results for our clients.

Alex: For landlords, presentation is key. Homes must be cared for to attract high-quality tenants to achieve the best price. Our Design & Refurbishment team specialises in getting properties ready for the market and is on hand to discuss the options to suit each client. They have extensive knowledge and an excellent track record, their services range from staging a property to complete renovations.

What do you love most about the area?

Alex: The unique combination of lively city life and tranquil residential areas. Each neighbourhood has its own character and charm and there is something for everyone. Whether it’s bustling markets and entertainment venues or leafy parks and a village atmosphere, there’s a wonderful diversity that all contribute to making prime west London a fantastic place to live and work.

What are some of your favourite roads in the area?

Camila: St Peter’s Square in Hammersmith has beautiful Georgian architecture and a peaceful garden square. Dukes Avenue is an impressive tree-lined street with large family homes, located close to the independent cafés and boutique shops of Chiswick High Road. Ealing Common is another personal favourite and is a fantastic place to go all year round; having an open green space like this on your doorstep is unbeatable.
